In this workshop, participants will learn the ins and outs of zines and leave with a booklet of their own making. Individuals will use a photocopier, collage, and an array of mixed media to create a zine of their own envisioning!
In this workshop, students will learn how to make low-tech silkscreen prints at home without chemicals or special equipment! Participants will make hand-cut stencils using wax paper and will learn the essentials of screen printing production, history, and many varied applications.
In this workshop, students will explore drypoint intaglio using plexiglass plates. In this method, the plate is not chemically etched but instead is manually scratched in such a way that produces a raised “burr” that grabs ink and produces a characteristically soft and velvety line.
This year, we are excited to offer a program of casual drop-in sessions in a variety of print media, for those with limited time and/or budgets! A $15 access pass will get you into up to 5 sessions around town, including solar printing, book binding, 3D printing, photogravure, wintergreen transfer, and maybe more! These sessions will be offered in an open-house format from 10am-1pm at various locations around town.
In this workshop, students will learn multiple techniques for monoprinting and image transfer. We will begin class with several demos covering trace monotype, collagraph, monoprinting and more. We will discuss ways of building layers within a print using multiple techniques and each student will have time to experiment at the press.
In this workshop, participants will learn about the past and present history of wood type, set compositions of their own choosing, and learn to print using our vintage Showcard sign press or Challenge proof press. Each attendee will leave with a stack of 15 posters of their own design!

Join us October 5-7, 2018 in beautiful downtown Silver City, NM to experience the awesome variety of work being made by printmakers from all over New Mexico, as well as El Paso, Tucson, Phoenix, and all points in between. Starting on Friday and wrapping up Sunday afternoon, the Festival features not only the brightest rising stars of the Blues but classic respected performers that have toured nationwide.

Vast,” a photography exhibit of the landscapes that are so much a part of New Mexico and beyond, will be featured at the Mimbres Region Arts Council Gallery for the month of February. The exhibit will open with a welcoming reception from 2 till 4 p.m. on Thursday, February 1.
The Friends of the Black Tie are planning a winter ball for Saturday, January 13, 2018. The theme is Arctic Vogue and white attire is suggested. We are inviting participants to have a relaxing dinner downtown and then join the party at 8 PM at the Grant County Conference Center where champagne and desserts will be served, followed by a cash bar and dancing.
