2018 Inspire / Aspire fund for student outreach
Your Support Inspires Students!
The Inspire/Aspire Fund for Student Outreach continues into its third year with increasing success. Because of the positive response by community members like you, we were able to enhance and grow the K-12 Southwest Student Art Exhibition. Over 500 student artworks from Silver, Cobre and Lordsburg school districts were displayed through the collaborative efforts of Western New Mexico University and the Mimbres Region Arts Council. Cash awards, scholarships and keepsake ribbons were awarded to students. Your support creates and grows opportunities for students to grow and explore their creativity.
Access to Creativity for Students of All Ages: A Challenge
The National Endowment for the Arts is challenging our community to raise matching contributions for the creation of four Casas De Artes. These temporary pop up art centers will run two weeks and include an locally curated exhibition of art works, adult/teen workshops and a Saturday Arts camp for children. The pop up art centers will be located throughout Grant County including Silver City and the mining districts. All programming will be FREE to the community. Contributions to the Inspire/Aspire Fund will provide wider access to creative opportunities for students, their families and a community of life-long learners. Your contribution will be matched through an NEA grant up to $10,000. To make this a reality, we need your financial support!
You Can Nurture A Creative Community!
Additionally, our Youth Murals (pictured above), Fine Arts Fridays, and Arte Para Todos significantly increase our outreach to students and their families. The Inspire/Aspire Fund is dedicated to providing access to arts experiences, regardless of financial or geographical challenges. If you believe the arts can inspire, this is your opportunity to impact a child’s life.
