Youth Mural Program
Silver City Pool (Summer 2007)
The Silver City Pool mural was produced during a two week Summer Mural Camp under the direction of local artists Zoe Wolfe and Melanie Zipin. Teen interns worked with 15 campers ages 5-12. Interns & artists met with the neighboring community for input then worked with the campers to include their designs into the underwater theme. The mural was projected onto the wall at night and the artists and interns sketched in the design. Parts of the mural were painted directly onto the wall and other parts, such as fantastical fish, were done on mural cloth and applied later.
The site sponsor was the "Friends of the Silver City Swimming Pool.”
