Youth Mural Program
“Chihuahua Hill” - Manzanita Ridge (Summer '09)
In the Summer of 2009, Youth Mural Camp students 5-12 years old worked with local artists Zoe Wolfe and Buck Burns and high school interns to create images taken from oral histories depicting life in the old neighborhood of Chihuahua Hill. A tile border of names interwoven with rose vines commemorates the old families of the area. Family life vignettes are painted throughout the murals, and symbols on tiles are interjected.
