Public Sculpture Program
In 2006 the Mimbres Region Arts Council embarked on a project to bring outdoor sculpture to public places in and around the downtown area of Silver City. With close collaboration between MRAC, the Town of Silver City, various local artists and New Mexico Arts, MRAC made its goal a reality with its first piece by Cecilia Stanford (no longer on display.) This was followed by “Ole” by Jeff Turner. The project was built upon in 2008 when the New Mexico State Collection loaned three pieces to MRAC and in 2009, the most recent piece, “Untitled” by Tim Read was added.
If you are interested in having your sculpture displayed through the program, please contact the MRAC Artistic Director at 575-538-2505.
