New Mexico Music Series
In Partnership with the Buckhorn Saloon & Opera House
The Buckhorn Saloon and Opera House is launching their second annual New Mexico Music Series with a Mardi Gras celebration event on Sat. February 18, 2012!
This series will focus on regional New Mexico/Arizona artists eventually expanding to include the entire Southwest. We have a wealth of diverse music and talent surrounding us and we hope to encourage more artists into our area and expose some of our area musicians to a greater audience as well to promote more musical camaraderie and interchange around the state.

There are 6 events planned for our Second Season, each with a local opener, co-sponsored by the MRAC. All of our performances this year feature New Mexico artists with the exception of one late addition. Not included on the Main Events Poster will be a concert by Tony Furtado, which we are very excited to add to our roster! The Kick-Off Event will be a Mardi Gras Party & Masquerade Ball on Saturday, February 18th, 2012 from 8-12 PM, with funk/rock/soul music by Naiz Denae (doors open @ 7:00 PM, music @ 7:30 PM.) This is a full band with horns in true Mardi Gras Fashion.
There will be a Costume Promenade & Contest, Prizes & Monsoon Puppets. April 28: Round Mountain (Folk, Roots, Americana) with local opener Andrew Dahl-Bredine. June 23: Anthony Leon & the Chain (Country, Rock, Americana) with local opener Melanie Zipin & the Sugar Leafs. July 21: Cathryn McGill with Jhn Rangel (Rhythm & Blues) with local opener Rodney Henderson & the Roadrunners. August 25: Le Chat Lunatique (Filthy, Mangy Jazz) with local opener Báxtalo Beng with Alma Zazz!
