Columbus Day Weekend in October
BrewHaHa! to open 2010 Mimbres Region Arts Council’s 14th Annual Weekend at the Galleries
The Seedboat Center for the Arts, 214 W. Yankie St. in Silver City, will host artists from throughout the countryside, displaying their music-inspired two and three dimensional pieces from 5-8 p.m., Oct. 8, at the newly opened venue. The submitted works will be sold for $200 or less to benefit the programs of the Mimbres Region Arts Council.
To serenade guests, the gypsy jazz of Randy Grothues, lead guitar, Judy Mitchell, accordion, and Renee Whipple, rhythm 
guitar, will be performed.
Signature wines by the St. Clair Winery will be available for purchase as will microbrews by High Desert Brewery.
A creative assortment of passed hors d’ oeuvres (more than 50 dishes both vegetarian and non) are in store for guests. The offerings are being created by volunteer chefs – “The MRAC Cuisine Team” – and the renowned gourmet chef and Seedboat co-curator Marcia Smith.

Following the Friday night kick-off event, 22 galleries will participate in the annual gallery openings throughout the weekend. Gallery hours are from 10 a.m.-8 p.m., Oct. 9; 10 a.m.-4 p.m., Oct. 10, and 10 a.m.-2 p.m., Oct. 11. Gallery visits are free.
