Columbus Day Weekend in October
A Call to Artists and Volunteers: 2010 Weekend at the Galleries is right around the corner!
This year’s event will start with a fun filled kickoff evening of art and music, to be held at the Seedboat Gallery on Friday, October 8th.
Artists: The title of the event will be “BrewHaHa” with the “sound of art” as the theme. Let music be the inspiration for your artwork, which can be either two or three dimensional and representational or abstract.
• Artwork should be delivered to Seedboat Gallery on October 1st or 2nd.
• Up to three pieces may be submitted.
• Artwork should be ready to display.
• Artwork should retail for $200.00 or less.
• Artwork will only be displayed during the Weekend at the Galleries.
• Applications can be picked up at the following locations:
- Leyba and Ingalls Arts, 315 N. Bullard St.
- Art and Conversation, 614 N. Bullard St.
- Silver Spirit Gallery, 215 W. Broadway
Volunteers: We are looking for volunteer chefs and servers for the cuisine team on October 8th, the Friday Night kick-off Celebration, titled “BrewHaHa!”. This year it will be held in the courtyard and performance space at the Seedboat Center for the Arts. There will be microbrews and wine available for purchase to accompany the creative assortment of passed finger-foods. Each volunteer chef will be responsible for a minimum of 50 servings of an appetizer. The oven space is small, so also, think about cold apps and vegetarian apps. More details will follow after we get our team together.
If you are interested in helping out, please contact Marcia Smith at 575-313-6959 or mtrinesmith@me.com as soon possible. Let her know if you are interested in making appetizers, serving, or possibly doing both. If you know what you would like to make, please describe your appetizer, amount (50 or more?) whether cold (room temp) or warm/hot. We have serving platters, so you will not have to worry about that. For those of you that might not have a special appetizer you would like to make, we will send some suggestions for you to choose from. If a recipe is needed, this will be sent to you too.
