Special Events...
Throughout the year, MRAC presents a number of Special or Signature Events. Some are scheduled events such as Chocolate Fantasia in February and the annual Memorial Day Weekend Blues Festival. Others, like the recent Holiday performance of the New Mexico Symphony Orchestra are one time special performances or events.
Every Memorial Day weekend, the Mimbres Region Arts Council presents one of the Southwest's premiere FREE Blues Festival. Starting on Friday and wrapping up Sunday afternoon, MRAC brings not only the brightest rising stars of the Blues but classic respected performers that have been there since the beginning.
Presented in Silver City's Gough Park (pronounced "Goff") with additional activities and events throughout Silver City, this is a true Blues Lovers Experience.
Pickamania! - celebrating folk, bluegrass and Americana acoustic musical traditions in beautiful southwest New Mexico.
Music, arts, workshops and fun! It's all here is SIlver City. Enjoy street dances, Jam Sessions and the comradery that is Americana.
This year is the 13th anniversary of an event that art lovers from far and wide mark on their calendars every year. What could be better than coming to beautiful Southwest New Mexico in October for Wine Tasting, Auctions, workshops, dancing and wandering the Art Galleries that have turned Silver City into what Santa Fe could have been, quaint, fun and affordable.
Black Tie Ball

Silver City is one place in the country where you can actually own a Tuxedo and get to use it. The Black Tie Ball is put on every year by the Friends of the Christmas Party Committee and MRAC. Every year a theme is chosen, the venue is decorated appropriately and everyone breaks out the formal wear. It's a "must attend" event!
Join the fun as Silver City celebrates Chocolate Fantasia! Stroll galleries, shops, and greet old friends while sampling gourmet chocolate creations made by local chocolatiers. Local musicians will be performing at many locations!
SPECIAL RECEPTION at ISAACS on Bullard St for the top three Award Winners immediately following the event. Join us at Isaac's at the corner of Broadway and Bullard for the awarding of a cash prize for the best chocolates. See if you and the Judges agree on who created the confection best in taste, texture and presentation. A glass of wine wouldn't hurt either.
