Pine Leaf Boys

Pine Leaf Boys have made a name for presenting their own inimitable brand of Cajun music with youthful exuberance. Hailing from southwest Louisiana, the Pine Leaf Boys, known for their wild shows and thoughtful arrangements, have breathed new life into Cajun music, reviving ancient songs and bringing them to the bandstand. Being described as, "... the link that connects the young and the old generations," and, "the best new, energetic, and fun Cajun band in a very long time," the Pine Leaf Boys play the old fashion dance hall standards while making it a priority to bring many of the more obscure songs of past masters into their repertoire and play them with gusto. The variety and energy they release evolves through their shows, bringing multi-faceted angles to Cajun, Creole, and Zydeco. Their mission is to present the awesome music of their ancestors and present the real Cajun music to the world and prove that it is still thriving and full of life.

Mollie O'Brien

Mollie has been called one of roots music’s best interpreters and singers, and her voice described as “smooth,” “smoky,” “powerful,” and “bright and bold as sheet lightning.” Mollie O’Brien sings Jazz, R&B, blues, gospel, southern mountain traditional and she approaches each with an ease that makes you think she was steeped in the style since the first time a note left her throat.

Growing up in, West Virginia, Mollie was exposed to music from performances by the Wheeling Symphony to concerts by Count Basie, Ray Charles, and the Beatles. She listened to singers — Joni Mitchell and Judy Collins, Bonnie Raitt and Dinah Washington, Streisand, Sinatra, and Betty Carter. After her sophomore year of college, she set out for the Big Apple and discovered the irresistible pull of swing music and the stylistic stretches required for jazz. Eventually she moved to Colorado, where brother Tim O’Brien had staked out territory in the booming music scene.

Her collaborations include three albums with Tim O’Brien and there have been any number of collaborations, most notably the Grammy-winning True Life Blues: The Songs of Bill Monroe (Sugar Hill) with a stellar bunch of bluegrass greats. For the past few years, Mollie has worked with Garrison Keillor and Robin & Linda Williams as the Hopeful Gospel Quartet, with her own five-piece band, and as a duo with husband Rich Moore.

Mollie has earned rave notices at major festivals and venues throughout the U.S. and in the United Kingdom, Europe, and South America.

Fishtank Ensemble

The LA Weekly calls them  “cross pollinated gypsy music….one of the most thrilling young acts on the planet.” Formed in 2005 and playing everywhere from the hippest LA clubs to festivals, cultural centers, museums, parades, and even on the street, the band includes two explosive violins, the best slap bass player in the world, musical saw, flamenco and gypsy jazz guitar, trombone, opera, jazz and gypsy vocals, accordion and one little banjolele. Tackling everything from French hot jazz to wild Serbian and Transylvanian gypsy anthems, Flamenco, and oddball originals, the band is a not to be missed event for world music lovers...and everyone will love this intoxicating mix of music!!
Fishtank Ensemble formed in 2005 in the midst of Fabrice Martinez's first visit to the US. After hunting around for musicians with whom he could jam on his violin, Fishtank Ensemble was born. That same year the group took to the road, performing up and down the west coast for delighted audiences everywhere.

Anne and Pete Sibley

Anne and Pete love to get right to the heart of their audience. For the husband and wife duo it is about the vocals, the words and the harmonies. Accompanied on guitar and banjo theirs is a traditional yet original sound. Anne and Pete have been singing together since they met in their high school choir. They were inspired by duet performers of traditional acoustic music when they began performing at the local Hootenanny in Jackson, Wyo. where they are based. Anne’s powerful vocals and songwriting paired with Pete’s solid melodic clawhammer banjo playing and harmonies highlight their recordings and live performances.

Since 2004 they have been offering their blend of original folk, bluegrass, old-time and traditional songs to wider audiences. In 2008 they continue to play folk & bluegrass festivals across the nation. They are grateful for the opportunity to share their original and traditional music.
